Maxx Secures First Professional Contract with Ebbsfleet United Football Club
Ebbsfleet United Football Club, based in Northfleet, Kent, competes in the National League, the fifth tier of English football. The team’s home ground is Stonebridge Road, also known as the Kuflink Stadium. Over the years, Ebbsfleet United has experienced various successes, including winning the FA Trophy in the 2007–08 season. In April 2023, under the management of Dennis Kutrieb, the club secured promotion back to the National League as champions, amassing a record-equalling 103 points and scoring over 100 goals in the season. As of February 2025, Josh Wright serves as the team’s manager, leading them in their ongoing National League campaign.
Ebbsfleet United has always been a club dedicated to nurturing young talent, and the latest success story from its academy is none other than Maxx. After years of hard work, resilience, and dedication, Maxx has signed his first professional contract with the club—a significant milestone in his football career.

A Journey That Began at Five
Maxx’s football journey started at the age of five when he joined Ebbsfleet United. His natural ability stood out even at such a young age, and it wasn’t long before scouts from various clubs took notice. At just eight years old, Maxx was signed by Gillingham FC, where he continued to develop his skills within their academy system.
For several years, Maxx thrived at Gillingham, consistently showcasing his potential. However, on December 15, 2021, during the lockdown period, he faced a significant setback—he was not offered a scholarship to continue with the club.

Overcoming Setbacks and Returning Stronger
Despite the disappointment, Maxx remained determined. He rejoined Ebbsfleet United’s Under-16s, where he played a key role in leading the team to victory in the Kent Youth League. His performances did not go unnoticed, and after completing his time at Ebbsfleet Academy school, he was accepted into the club’s Scholarship Programme.
During this period, Maxx continued to impress, earning opportunities to feature in the Kent Senior Cup with the first team. As 2024 progressed, his hard work and commitment were rewarded with increased first-team training sessions and more match minutes. His breakthrough moment arrived on October 29, 2024, when he made his National League debut against Tottenham Hotspur in the National League Cup.

A Professional Contract Earned
Maxx’s determination, resilience, and performances on the pitch proved he was ready for the next step. On January 9, 2025, he was officially offered his first professional contract with Ebbsfleet United. This contract is not just a testament to his individual effort but also a reflection of the club’s commitment to developing young talent.

A Bright Future Ahead
Signing a professional contract is just the beginning for Maxx. With his talent, work ethic, and the continued support of Ebbsfleet United, he has an exciting future ahead. His journey is an inspiring example for young players coming through the academy—showing that setbacks are just stepping stones to success.
Everyone at Ebbsfleet Academy is incredibly proud of Maxx’s achievement, and we look forward to seeing him continue to grow and make his mark in professional football.
