curriculum intent
- All students will be exposed to fluency, reasoning and problem solving in a variety of contexts.
- The curriculum has been mapped out over 7 years to be inclusive and spiralised, where each lesson’s small step is built upon prior knowledge.
- The White Rose curriculum has been chosen as it breaks all learning down into “small steps”, ensuring that all students including SEND and EAL are supported in their learning and the heavy use of representations will deepen our pupil’s understanding.
- Following the Middle Years Programme (MYP) alongside the national curriculum enables us to explore national curriculum materials in a “real life” context by applying the learning to a real life scenario, making our curriculum more ambitious that the national curriculum.
- We aim to support all learners of all abilities through implementation of the curriculum using digital strategies and universal design for learning strategies where purposeful, as well as embedding disciplinary literacy and oracy skills within mathematics.
