Performing Arts

back to subjects

In the Performing Arts department, students are encouraged to understand the important  role they have  in creating and watching the performing arts. We seek to foster a belief that the performing arts are for everyone. Our aim is to create confident  and creative students who use the performing arts to reflect, challenge and make connections about who they are and the society they live in.

Drama

KS3 students study drama once every two weeks. Lessons are mostly practical but allow students to reflect on their own and their peers’ learning through class discussion and  the use of an arts process journal to help students to develop their reflective and critical thinking.

Music

KS3 students study  at least once a week. Lessons focus on the theory and  practice of music. Students are encouraged to reflect on their own and their peers’ learning through class discussion and  the use of an arts process journal to help students to develop their reflective and critical thinking.
